This is Yousef Issa’s personal website. I use optional Google Analytics to understand which pages and projects people visit and whether they open my résumé or click a contact link.

Your choice

For visits identified as coming from the United States, analytics starts automatically unless you have opted out or your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track. Elsewhere, or when the country check fails, analytics stays off until you choose “Allow analytics.” An existing choice still applies, and browser privacy signals take priority. You can turn analytics off or change your choice using “Analytics settings” at the bottom of any page. Declining leaves the website fully usable. Explicit choices are remembered in your browser for up to 180 days; automatic US measurement is not saved as consent.

Vercel uses the approximate country associated with your network connection to select this setting. The website receives only the resulting setting, not your IP address or precise location. VPNs and proxies can affect the detected country. No separate geolocation provider is contacted.

What analytics collects

When analytics is enabled, Google receives information such as page visits, link clicks, the referring website, approximate location, and browser and device details. Analytics cookies distinguish visits and expire after up to 180 days. Advertising personalization and Google signals are disabled.

The site removes query strings and fragments from the page and link addresses it sends, and sends only the referring website’s origin. Email clicks are recorded without the email address or message content. Opening a résumé link is counted as a download event; it does not tell me whether you saved or read the PDF. Direct visits to the PDF are not tracked by this tag.
